New article “Research Priorities for Robust Climate Assessments in the United States"

EDeN PI Dr. Guangqing Chi is a contributing author on a new article, “Research Priorities for Robust Climate Assessments in the United States,” published in Earth’s Future.

The article brings together climate researchers from across the United States to identify emerging research priorities for future climate assessments. The authors highlight the need to better understand interconnected climate impacts across physical, ecological, social, and economic systems while strengthening the connections between climate science and decision-making.

Among the areas examined is Alaska, where rapid warming and changes to permafrost, infrastructure, ecosystems, and community livelihoods underscore the need for locally relevant and actionable climate research.

The authors call for continued collaboration among researchers, communities, Indigenous Peoples, governments, NGOs, and the private sector to strengthen future climate assessments and support climate-informed decision-making.
